Are you ready for something that is both out of this world amazing and also out of this world expensive, One Piece fans? If so, get psyched, because Bandai is finally ready to bring their third diecast One Piece Chogokin toy to your home! In 2011 we got the New World Cyborg Franky action figure, which is still the best Franky action figure ever produced. In 2012 the Chogokin Going Merry sailed into our collections. And in 2013, the first-ever diecast One Piece Franky Shogun figure is going to launch into collections everywhere!

Bandai Chogokin Franky Shogun Diecast Mech Figure 2013When I first saw the prototype images of the Franky Shogun Chogokin, my reaction was something along the lines of “HOLY GEEZ!”, but a little less polite. This is one crazy toy. The One Piece Chogokin Franky Shogun figure is made of super alloy metal and will stand 230mm tall–which is just over 9″ tall. So basically, the General Franky Shogun Chogokin is going to be about the size of your typical One Piece Portrait of Pirates figure–give or take an inch.

Close-Up and Opening Hatch on General Franky Shogun One Piece Chogokin Bandai Figure

Bandai seriously went all out with this figure. The General Franky Shogun die-cast figure has loads of articulation built into it, including elbows, knees, hips, shoulders, and neck. There’s a giant katana sword that attaches to the back of the figure that can be taken off and wielded by the Franky Shogun. The hatch in the torso of the Franky Shogun can even open to reveal a little Armored Franky figure piloting the mech!

One Piece Black Rhino Cycle from Bandai Chogokin Franky ShogunIs that not enough to get you titillated? How about this: the Chogokin One Piece Shogun Franky mech figure will also come with little vehicles of the Black Rhino IV Cycle and the Brachio Tank V! Banpresto is releasing a Brachio Tank 5 later this year in their Grandline Vehicle Series, but this will be the first toy ever for the Black Rhino FR-U 4 Motorcycle.

One Piece Chogokin Brachio Tank 5 from General Franky Shogun DiecastThere is–of course–a catch to all of this goodness (isn’t there always?). This huge and imposing diecast figure is expensive–as in really, really freaking expensive. As in 26,250 yen expensive. For those without a calculator, that’s $268 US. Before paying for shipping to mail a massive, heavy diecast 9″ figure across the world. So yeah. This is going to be one expensive toy. Oh, I’ll probably end up with him (is there any doubt?), but this particular figure is not going to be for the weak of heart.

Diecast Franky Shogun One Piece Chogokin Figure BandaiThe Chogokin Franky Shogun figure is now up for pre-order for United States and international customers. Bandai will be releasing the One Piece Chogokin General Franky Shogun die-cast toy in October 2013, with shipments arriving in the United States and other parts of the world in November.

What do you think of the Bandai One Piece Chogokin Franky Shogun, One Piece fans? Is he a must-have for your collection, or is he just too expensive?

Wow, he’s definitely amazing but as I’ll already get the POP Franky, I don’t think I can afford this one. He’s definitely cool but currently too expensive and I’m sure the prize will even go up in the future. 🙁

At first i thought it was going to be big enough to put the actual Franky figure in, though the little Franky figures both inside the robot and on the Black Rhino IV Cycle are very well detailed.
