One Piece Figuarts Zero Ace Cross Fire Battle Ver. Exclusive!

Though he’s been dead for years in the One Piece anime, manga and even the story’s world, fans still can’t get enough of Portgas D. Ace! Monkey D. Luffy’s only surviving brother (yeah, right), Ace was among the absolute most popular characters in the One Piece anime despite his limited appearances in the story. Last year’s Figuarts Zero One Piece Fire Fist Ace Battle Ver. figure was a hot commodity on the market, so Bandai is giving (some) fans what they want–this all-new, limited One Piece Figuarts Zero Fire Fist Ace Cross Fire Battle Ver. #2 figure!

Bandai Web Exclusive Figuarts Zero Portgas D. Ace Battle Ver Preorder AnnouncementI was wondering why Bandai had announced another trio of figures for October 2013, as One Piece Figuarts Zero figures only tend to be released individually or pairs in months. Turns out it was because the Figuarts Fire Fist Ace Battle Ver. Cross Fire version that I broke the news on earlier this month is another Bandai Web Exclusive figure! That means that this figure will be limited to sales overseas through the Bandai Web Shop, and will not be available through normal online retailers.

Bandai Figuarts Zero One Piece Fire Fist Ace Cross Fire Battle Ver. Figure

It makes total sense to make this second Ace Battle Ver. Figuarts Zero One Piece figure a limited edition exclusive. When you think about it, there’s already been a Fire Fist Ace Battle Ver. figure previously released, cutting into the market for customers who’ll want to buy this one.

And with Portgas D. Ace no longer appearing in the One Piece anime and manga (what with being dead and all), Bandai may be wise to be wary of his popularity waning.

Figuarts Zero One Piece Cross Fire Battle Ver. Fire Fist Ace FigureDepending on what vantage point you’re looking at this Figuarts Zero Portgas D. Ace Cross Fire Battle Ver. from, it either looks amazing or kind of comical. From the front the fire effects pieces look tremendous, while on the back the Whitebeard Pirates tattoo is exemplary painted (and it’s also cool to get a Bandai figure of Ace wearing green shorts). From other perspectives, however, it sort of looks like Ace is, uh… explosively defecating and blasting into the air from the force of it. Heh.

One Piece Figuarts Zero Ace Cross Fire Battle Ver. BackUp-close, the details on this Figuarts Zero Battle Ver. Ace Cross Fire figure are just awesome. I love the sculpted details on the bottoms of his shoes, and his facial sculpt is one of the best ever for Portgas D. Ace. I think it’s really a shame that this figure is going to be a limited exclusive, as I actually like it quite a bit more than the original Bandai Portgas D. Ace Battle Ver. figure that was released in 2012.

Close-Up of Portgas D. Ace Battle Ver Crossfire Figuarts Zero One Piece FigureThe Crossfire Battle Ver. Figuarts Zero Portgas D. Ace figure is a limited-edition exclusive figure being released only in Japan, with a scheduled release date of January 2014. Some import stores such as BigBadToyStore will likely end up importing some of the figure to sell in countries outside of Asia, and I’ll post pre-order links here and on the One Piece Z Facebook Page when and if domestic online retailers put this limited Fire Fist Ace figure up for order.

UPDATE: The Figuarts Zero Ace Cross Fire Battle Ver. figure is now available for pre-order in limited supplies from BigBadToyStore. Big Bad Toy Store will be the only store in the United States stocking the Bandai Web Exclusive Fire Fist Ace figure.

  1. Looks alright, far more excited for the Aokiji and Akainu Battle Ver. Do you think we will be seeing pics of those any time soon?

  2. Oh, actually i’ve just seen some (rather blurry) pictures of them elsewhere, they look interesting.

    • I didn’t want to post the magazine photos of Aokiji and Akainu Battle Ver. here–I feel like they’re too small and will cast the figures in a negative light. I’m hoping Akainu will look better when we get the official photos.

  3. Please oh please link me the pictues of Aokiji and Akainu. It doesnt matter if its blurry. Ive been searching for them for a month and i cant find them. Its driving me crazy.
