When it rains, it pours–and in March 2014, it’s raining One Piece P.O.P. figures! Earlier this month the One Piece Portrait of Pirates Roronoa Zoro and Monkey D. Luffy Edition-Z figures (based on their appearances in One Piece Film Z) were released, and now MegaHouse has thrown a third new release into the fray! Many of us never thought we’d see the day that MegaHouse would produce one of Chopper’s uncommon forms, but the One Piece POP Chopper Horn Point figure has now been released overseas and is available for order!
The amount of One Piece Tony Tony Chopper toys and figures and other types of merchandise released by various companies each year is truly staggering. I don’t even particularly like Chopper, and even so I still own more Tony Tony Chopper swag than I’ll ever be able to display. So to say I wasn’t anticipating MegaHouse revealing yet another Chopper figure was an understatement.
The box art for this Horn Point Tony Tony Chopper Portrait of Pirates figure is bouncy, fun and refreshing. In short, I really like it. It won’t win any awards, but it is nice. Like all POP MAS figures, Chopper only includes a display base and no additional accessories or alternate body parts. I don’t really have a problem with that, as I don’t have any idea what MegaHouse would include as extras for this particular statue anyway.
Just like the box, the One Piece P.O.P. MAS Chopper Horn Point figure is bright and colorful. It’s really going to take some getting used to having a MegaHouse Chopper action figure on the shelf that every other Portrait of Pirates figure doesn’t tower over!
The defining trait of the Chopper Horn Point transformation is, of course, Chopper’s humongous antlers (horns). From a side view, you can get an idea of how positively massive Chopper’s horns really are when he’s in the Horn Point! Pretty intimidating stuff!
It’s really a shame that Chopper doesn’t utilize the Horn Point more in the One Piece anime and manga. It’s easily one of Chopper’s cutest–and best-looking–transformations. I didn’t fully appreciate the Horn Point Tony Tony Chopper design until this One Piece P.O.P. figure was created for it. Thanks for that, MegaHouse!
The hot pink figure stand base that Chopper comes with is blindingly bright and altogether awesome-looking. I much, much prefer this dark pink base to the pastel pink base that came with the One Piece P.O.P. Kyupin Chopper figure that I reviewed last year.
MegaHouse went the extra mile–as usual–and painted the little black areas on the MegaHouse Chopper Horn point figure’s feet–even though no one will ever see the bottom of Chopper’s feet once he’s on his display base!
The One Piece POP Horn Point Chopper figure has just been released and is now available for import order from overseas. Having seen the finished product, One Piece collectors, will you be buying the first-ever One Piece P.O.P. Chopper figure that’s not in his Brain Point form? What other Chopper point (if any) would you like to see MegaHouse tackle text?
