Never in my wildest dreams did I think that less than two weeks after discussing the upcoming Bandai Chogokin General Franky Shogun diecast figure, I would have a One Piece item not just more expensive, but vastly more expensive to discuss. If you thought that the Chogokin Franky Shogun was pricey at $250, you’re in for a serious case of sticker shock. Tsume Art has unveiled their first ever high-quality statue based on the One Piece manga and anime–Roronoa Zoro–and it costs a quiver-inducing $500+…
Though Tsume Art is new to One Piece, I’m very familiar with their anime HQS (High Quality Statue) series. I’m actually saving up right now to purchase the amazing Naruto Shippuden Sakura Tsume statue, which is one of the best-looking statues I’ve ever seen in my life. But that statue is only a bit over $300, whereas this one is about $511 US right now. At that price, even I tremble a little bit.
With a price tag of 399€ or ~$511 US plus shipping, this is one ridiculously expensive item. It does come with two different Roronoa Zoro statue figures that you can plug in–both a standing Zoro and a slashing Zoro–but at that price, I feel like they should be molded out of solid gold or something. The statue is in the 1/7 scale, and is about 50cm (about 20 inches) tall, and included a metal plate with its serial number on it. The tornado should look good cast in translucent resin, but man–that price. Plus this statue is going to be about 10kg heavy (that’s 22 pounds!), meaning it’s going to cost a small fortune to ship it.
Show of hands, readers! Are any of you out there bold enough (or rich enough) to invest in this Tsume Zoro Fishman Island statue? Is this something you just have to have, or are you going to cower in terror from the sheer expense of this $500+ statue?
